Description : Cathy and Nick look forward to welcoming you to Phoenix Hostel. You’ll find everything you expect from a modern hostel within our unusual 1850’s timber-framed house. Phoenix is part of an ensemble of listed buildings perfectly situated in the old quarter “Varosha”, just two minutes walk from the buzzing day & night life of the city and convenient for all the interesting sights. Carefully renovated and furnished you'll find us clean and comfortable, safe and secure and you can be sure we’ll look after you. Come and make yourself at home at Phoenix. We have been recycling all our refuse ( plastic, metal, card/paper, glass and compostable materials ) ever since we opened in 2007. The compostable materials go to our own compost heap and back into the garden. We do not use air conditioning ( not necessary as the house was well constructed ( in 1850 ) but, as the house is a ' Monument of Architectural Culture' (a listed historical building) we cannot have solar panels for hot water. Therefore summer hot water is produced by electricity. However winter heating of the house and of water is 100% wood / eco briquette fired (this year we will be using compressed Sunflower husk, a by-product of sunflower oil extraction).
