> Winter WonderlandsPosted by Marga || e-mail I was at the winter wonderland of Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, (the end of the world - gate to the Antartica), with nice skiing and ice skating, amazing lakes and National Park (the only one with mounts and sea) with foxes, woodpeckers, beavers, rabbits, and a lot of birds. The city is located on the coast of Beagle Channel, and you can sail till the lighthouse, seals island or birds island. There is a glaciar "Le Martial" 7 Km away downtown, you can climb till the ice or take the chairlift. Wonderful ! I was staying in summer too. Fantastic! Lots of colours, and infinite places to trek on awesome lands. I found two girls from the States who came by their own van and will return in August for skiing. We stayed at the friendly ABRA Ushuaia International Hostel, very clean and comfortable and good rates. Frendly people there also. If you need more information write them to info@abraushuaia.com.ar and ask everything you want. They know every place to go in Tierra del Fuego paying just a couple of coins!!!-> Show all |
